It's an unfortunate truth in modern America that many marriages simply do not last. Statistics show that between 40% and 50% of marriages will end in divorce, and as many as 20% of marriages end within the first five years of exchanging their vows.

Divorce proceedings are never easy, even the most amicable divorces can be difficult to navigate from a legal standpoint. For example, couples with shared assets, property, etc. must come to an agreement as to how those holdings are divvied up during the process. Even in the most friendly divorces, disagreements about who gets what can create stress and complicate an already delicate situation. If there are minor children involved, the process can become even more tumultuous, and the need for a child custody lawyer or divorce lawyer services becomes even greater.

Going through the process of a divorce without the guidance of an attorney can be challenging to say the least. Divorce lawyers are able to provide their clients not just legal help but also serve to provide support and a shoulder to lean on during stressful times. If you are going through a divorce, or are considering divorcing your spouse, here are some reasons you should seek divorce lawyer services.

1. Mediate Disagreements

Divorce is a stressful process. And it is not uncommon for spouses to have pent up anger and frustration about the matter. These feelings of contempt can often lead to arguments, which can frustrate the situation further. Divorce attorneys can help mediate and mitigate these issues between the divorcing parties.

2. Reduce Emotional Stress

Divorce is a process that can take its toll on individuals, both emotionally and physically. It's a frustrating and mentally taxing situation on the individuals involved. By securing lawyer services , you can lighten the proverbial load. A divorce lawyer will be there to attend to the important legal details and help you remain focused on the process at hand. Great divorce attorneys provide more than just legal guidance to their clients, they also provide a great deal of emotional support. It's not uncommon for individuals who are going through a divorce to need someone who listens to their frustration, concerns, and worries. A divorce lawyer can provide clients with an outlet to express these emotions.

3. Expedite Divorce Proceedings

The last thing any couple wants is to prolong the divorce. When two people are going through a divorce they rarely see eye to eye. Divorcees with complicated financial situations or shared accounts and property need to come to a mutual agreement as to how those things get split up in the divorce. This more often than not is an ongoing back and forth battle. Without a lawyer to mediate and help settle these arguments, the process may go on longer than it needs to. Divorce lawyers can help facilitate the process by helping couples come to mutual agreements much faster.

4. Make Sure You Get What You Are Lawfully Entitled To

Each state has different laws concerning divorce. Depending on where you were married, you may be entitled to a larger share of assets in the divorce. You may even be entitled to alimony settlement. Divorce lawyers can make sure that you are getting your legal fair share of what you are entitled to in the divorce.

5. Navigate Child Custody Laws

In marriages where there are children as a result of the union, child custody disagreements can be a major point of contention. This is another area where laws differ state. An experienced divorce lawyer can help you determine and fight for your rights as a parent.

So, if you are the primary parent, you typically have even Spring Break possession.
